NCCN Foundation Promotes Patient Education and Empowerment in Europe

The NCCN Foundation participated in the 2024 European Hematology Association (EHA) Congress in Madrid, Spain on June 13 through 16.  As part of the NCCN delegation to EHA, Patrick Delaney, NCCN Foundation Executive Director, raised awareness for the NCCN Guidelines for Patients® and translated resources – which provide expert information to people facing cancer around the world.

Hundreds of conference attendees stopped by the NCCN Booth daily to learn about NCCN resources and programs. Many were excited to share their views of the value of the NCCN Clinical Practice Guidelines in Oncology (NCCN Guidelines®) supporting cancer care around the world. In 2023, 49% of the 1.8 million registered users of NCCN Guidelines® lived outside of the United States.

To grow the NCCN Foundation’s efforts to fund patient resources, Delaney continued to establish relationships with global advocacy and industry organizations.  In 2023, 19% of all users of the NCCN Guidelines for Patients were from outside of the United States, representing 51 countries.

If you wish to learn more about how you can support the NCCN Foundation and how to bring the available patient resources to the global community, please contact Patrick Delaney at delaney@nccn.org.
